U.S. regulatory status
Not FDA-approved. Recommended for the 503A compounding list by FDA’s advisory committee in July 2026; FDA has not finalized that decision. Not currently offered.
What it is
KPV is the tail end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), a peptide with known anti-inflammatory effects.
How it is thought to work
In lab and animal studies, KPV is carried into intestinal cells by a transporter (PepT1) that is more active in inflamed gut, where it dampens inflammatory signaling.
Animations simplify biology for teaching. They are not a claim that this peptide works this way in people.
What the research shows
Evidence comes mainly from cell and animal models of colitis. FDA reviewers identified little to no human exposure data.
Safety and considerations
Human safety data are essentially absent. Purity and sourcing are major concerns outside licensed pharmacies.
Our position
We are building protocols and watching rulemaking. We do not offer it or imply that it is available today.
