What it is
A short fragment of kisspeptin, the hormone that starts puberty by switching on GnRH neurons.
How it is thought to work
It triggers GnRH release, which then drives LH and FSH.
Animations simplify biology for teaching. They are not a claim that this peptide works this way in people.
What the research shows
Human research studies, mostly in fertility and reproductive endocrinology, show it reliably triggers LH release. There are no approved treatments.
Safety and considerations
Research use has been well tolerated short term; long-term safety is unknown.
